Posted onWe are looking forward to running at Boonah parkrun when it gets going. I like a trail parkrun with some hills :) Good luck with the planning. As an ED and EA I know what goes into setting up a new parkrun event. Happy to advise on anything if you need any advice

Posted onI have not run there but looking at Google map satellite view I am guessing you can do some loop in Bicentennial Park at the start. I helped start 2 events last year at Lota and Redland Bay where we needed to be creative to get the 5km distance. Often many ways to get the 5km, just need to look at some options and try them out. When you are planning add on an extra 50m, parkruns should always be at least 5km by going for about 5050m you will stop a lot of people moaning your course is short when they have cut a corner or two or measured on an inaccurate device. When you have a good route measured by GPS then it will be time to measure it a bit more accurately with a wheel :)
