Esperance and Cape Le Grande
71.3 kmCame down from Perth for a few nights camping and checking out the beautiful beaches around Esperance. The drive down was hot (44 at Hyden) and made us very keen to get there and get in the water. Arrived late in the afternoon (after 9 hours driving) and the wind had picked up a bit so scouted around to find a nice camping spot in the dunes off wylie beach. Found a few good spots but finally settled on one. Set up camp. Still quite warm so looking forward to swimming the next day. Made dinner had a couple of beers and settled into bed.
Holy shit!!!
The wind picked up big time. Tent was virtually flat from the wind and full of sand, as we left the windows down to leg some breeze in. Very tough night for sleeping. But oh well the swimming the next day will make up for it.
No.
Woke up to overcast and a top of 20 even though 36 was forecast. A little disappointed we headed off to check out all the beaches.
Beautiful!! Would have loved to see them in all their glory with the sun shining. But it wasn't meant to be. Still had a fantastic time. Due to the wind and cold weather we decided to pack up early and head home the following day. A long way for a two night camping trip (meant to be four). But still had a great time. Definitely worth a look.
lennard track, black diamond and honeymoon pool
90.0 kmOvernighter with friends and family. Gave lennards track a go. Some nice spots for swimming, Bombies, picnic. But the reason for the trip was lennards hill. However it was blocked off tried a couple of ways to get there but locked gates all round. Went for a walk to check it out. Would have been a nice challenge. But a massive tree has been placed on the tracks. Looks like it is closed permanently.....?
Went to black diamond. What a beautiful little spot. Water is a nice clear blue. But rubbish EVERYWHERE. I can't believe people are doing that to these beautiful spots. Even bring rubbish bags but leave everything there. So had a swim and jumped off the cliffs, then left didn't feel like camping with the rubbish and the local inhabitants.
Camped at honeymoon poll nice spot.
wedge island to grey
30.1 kmPlaying on the wedge dunes was fun and on a nice day the beach would be beautiful. Be careful though the bush track heading northe to grey is very tight. You will receive some new pin striping.
