Snobs Creek day trip!!

173.9 km

This is a copy of my Trip Report that I organised through www.4wdtrip.com.au

Great day out!! Was my first time leading a group of others out in to the bush so wasnt really sure on what to expect experience wise. Quickly learnt that the day was going to be pretty easy for all.

After exploring a few tracks at the back of Snobs Creek Falls we headed over to Jerusalem Creek, then decided to throw in a few tracks that I havent driven. Ended up on a well overgrown track (thankfully someone had been through before us and chainsawed alot of trees that would of been across the track). Half an hour of literally driving through trees we came towards the end of the track where there was a nice slippery down hill to the main road. Alex & Eddie made it back up and Paulieee gave a more than fair effort.

We then did a few tracks that ran alongside Eildon Jamieson Road, jump on to the main road and looped on to a track that I knew there was a few bog holes along. The grader had been through which actually made it a bit more fun as it was a little bit slipper but unfortunately they had killed the bog holes. So I thought we would try one more track out for the day.

This track is off the map and is usually is pretty overgrown with a couple of little challenges (prob wouldnt of been for Alex, Eddie & Paulieee though). The grader had been through this track as well which has just turned it to sticky mud!! I gave the first hill a crack a few times with no luck so I let Craig through who did it pretty easy, followed by Paulieee & Alex who both winched the last little bit at the top and then Eddie just cruisers through without too much effort and makes it look easy. The day was starting to get on so Barry, Travis and I decided that we will turn around and meet the others at the other end of the track.

After hearing the boys struggling to get through we decided to head in from the other end of the track, took me quite a few goes at getting up the first hill our end, eventually winching myself up after sliding off track and resting up on a tree. Barry got most of the way up unassisted and I helped him with the last 20 meters. Travis got up 2nd attempt. We finally caught up to the other guys, helped them clear a few trees out of the way and they eventually got up to the top.

Awesome team effort by all, awesome company & well done to Eddie on getting through without using his winch!!
